San Bakar's Trial serves as one of the most pivotal story moments in Hogwarts Legacy, marking the final test set by the Keepers. Players must navigate environmental obstacles, utilize specific spell mechanics, and engage in a thrilling confrontation to prove their mastery over ancient magic. Understanding the exact steps required ensures a seamless progression through this late-game quest.
Locating the Trial Chamber and Clearing the Vines
To begin San Bakar's Trial, players must travel to the Cragcroftshire region located in the southern area of the world map. Upon arriving at the designated marker, Professor Fig will accompany you to a large wall adorned with dense foliage that obscures the entrance.
Clearing this path requires burning away the thick ivy using either Incendio or Confringo to reveal the hidden doorway. Once the wall is cleared, casting Revelio unveils the stone face carved into the structure, signaling that the trial is ready to commence.
Finding and Taming the Lord of the Shore
Unlike previous Keepers' trials that relied heavily on abstract room puzzles and portal mechanics, San Bakar tests your ability to command powerful magical beasts. Your task leads you directly to the lair of the Graphorn, known locally as the Lord of the Shore.
Defeating this massive creature in combat is necessary before you can earn its respect and mount it. Utilizing ancient magic throws, well-timed dodges, and high-damage spells like Bombarda will effectively deplete its health bar during the battle.
Unlocking the Sanctuary Chamber Door
Once the Graphorn is subdued, choose to kneel or charge to establish control and claim the beast as a mount. You must then ride the creature back across the region toward the trial entrance, breaking through enemy barricades along the path.
Positioning the Graphorn onto the large stone pressure plate in front of the carved face opens the massive stone door. Entering the chamber allows you to proceed toward the final memory room where San Bakar's story is revealed.
Completing the Trial and Viewing the Memory
Inside the inner sanctuary, interact with the ancient magic pool to activate the Pensieve pedestal. Viewing the memory provides critical historical context regarding Isidora Morganach and the dangerous consequences of misusing ancient power.
After the cutscene concludes, take the Pensieve artifact from the pedestal to return to the Map Chamber. Speaking with the Keepers completes the quest, bringing your character one step closer to resolving the main storyline.
